Reviews
Amazing food! Wonderful service. Highly recommend for brunch. We loved the sangria, mimosas and Bloody Mary.
This is an AMAZING place. I got the strawberry basil french toast, and let me just say, this is the BEST restaurant you will ever go to. The waiters are nice, the food came rather swiftly, and the service in general is amazing. Also, if you get an outside seat, you have an amazing view. Also great prices. If your looking for a brunch in ocala, this is the place for you.
Atmosphere:
French music with romantic undertones.
Food:
Scallops
Perfectly sealed with sauteed leafy greens, bacon, and fresh tomatoes. Delicious starter.
Duck Breast:
Delicious duck breasts with very little char on the edge. The risotto was excellent, sun-dried tomatoes added a bit of sweetness to it that went excellent with the duck.
Beef Bourguignon:
Tender beef. A little bitterness, I presume due to the wine.
Truffle Mash Potatoes:
Excellent choice to share. Please add this to your meal.
Service:
Excellent and knowledgeable about the food and its influence.
Final thoughts:
Nice decor and ambiance for a semi-romatic quite dinner and great conversation.
They served the best Thanksgiving dinner of my life.. I have had Crème Brûlée in Europe, the very best again !!! Relaxing & quite atmosphere. Service was polite, Shawn, speedy.... A+++++ David Duff
The food is delicious but the service is haphazard and slow. We waited 40 minutes from the appetizer to the main course. We watched as people who arrived and ordered after us were served before us. By the time our main course arrived we were no longer hungry and took it to go. When my wife said something the reply was "do you want dessert". Also had to hunt our server down for more water. Service definitely needs to be refined and be more focused on the overall enjoyment of the dining experience.
Traveling on Ocala downtown we were not able to get into any restaurant for dinner on a Friday night unless we waited for an hour. We decided to go to this French oriented restaurant as we were told it was the best in the area. It was half empty.
We sat at the bar, and after a while we were serve drinks. Good selections of libations, whiskey, Gin, and Vodka. Acceptable wine list, although I would expect more from a French restaurant. Food was ok. Presentation was ok. Escargot were very tasty in a not so French sauce. Duck Magret was excellent with great sauce. The cheese risotto was ok.
Gratinee a l’oignon ( onion soup ) was just broth, super hot, with very few onions, couple of crostini floating and not so good flavor. Seems all was prepared in a microwave. Not sure.
The special of red grouper on a cherry Beurre Blanc sauce was very poor, hard, sole like. We did not eat it. And the cheese risotto was different than the one on the duck.
Overall a 3.5.
Not the best restaurant in the area. Expensive. An American- presque French restaurant.
Servers were very nice.
TLDR: Food is okay and the cocktails are great, but I expected more for the price. We waited 25+ minutes then had to ASK for a wait staff to come to our table. Lovely music and atmosphere were nice. We would try again, but only for drinks...
We were greeted on entry, and had multiple staff check to see someone was helping us when she went to check the table - including the owner. It went downhill fast for service after that. Tip: Make sure they know you're seated or you won't even get eye contact from the servers. We waited 25+ minutes and had to pull the hostess to find out why not a soul had been to our table since she seated us.
We enjoyed all the cocktails we ordered. Appetizer round was okay. The grilled bread for the tartare was completely black and burned on the bottom side. I could not eat it, it ruined the entire dish - but they had brought other bread earlier that I used in its place.
Meal was also okay, I expected more and would have enjoyed if they told you what the chefs selection of fish in the bouillabaisse was (just for curiosity). Muscles had some grit, unfortunately.
Dessert chocolate tart was good, curiosity two different whipped creams - one stiff from fridge/freezer. Other on the side was lighter and tastier.
Our first night here, loved the live French music. The crab stuffed shrimp appetizer was just okay, not season but the lemon butter sauce saved it. The rest of the entrees were also lacking in seasoning, although they did have tableside salt and pepper. The sauces were very tasty
